Afterglow is a photo editing app for iPhone made by Burak Sakalli. This policy explains how the app, support correspondence and this website handle information.

Information collected by the app

Afterglow has no accounts, advertising, analytics or tracking. The app does not send photos, captions or usage information to the developer. All film effects run locally on your iPhone. The developer operates no photo-processing or purchase server.

Your photos and camera

• Apple’s photo picker gives Afterglow only the images you choose, rather than access to the rest of your library.
• Camera access is used when you choose to take a photo. You can change camera permission in iOS Settings.
• Saving a finished strip asks for add-only permission to Photos. It does not allow the app to read your library.
• Afterglow does not add GPS metadata to exported strips.

Memories, backups and deletion

Memories stores finished JPEG strips and a local index containing their captions, selected film names and creation dates. Delete a memory in the app to remove that copy. Deleting the app removes its local data. Copies saved to Photos or shared elsewhere must be deleted separately.

App data and Photos may be included in device or iCloud backups according to your Apple settings. Afterglow does not operate its own cloud storage or sync service.

Sharing

Afterglow shares a strip only when you choose a destination in the standard iOS share sheet. You choose what to share and where it goes. The receiving app or service’s privacy practices apply.

Purchases

Apple processes the optional one-time Afterglow Plus purchase. Afterglow uses Apple’s StoreKit to verify transactions and restore access. The developer does not receive your payment details or Apple Account credentials. Apple handles purchase-related information under Apple’s privacy policy.

Support correspondence

If you email support, the developer receives your email address and the information you voluntarily include and uses it to respond to your request. Avoid sending private photos or payment details. You can request deletion of your support correspondence by emailing the address below.

This website

These pages contain no advertising, analytics scripts or tracking cookies. The website is hosted by Vercel, which may process standard web request information, such as an IP address, to deliver and protect the site. See Vercel’s privacy policy. Website requests are separate from use of the Afterglow iPhone app.

Children

The app does not collect personal information from its users, including children. Support correspondence and website requests are handled as described above.

Changes to this policy

Changes will be published here with an updated date. The app includes an offline copy of the policy and a link to this page.
