Afterglow Support

Afterglow is coming to the App Store for iPhone with iOS 18 or later. Here is how to make your first photo strip and find help.

Make your first strip

Tap Make a photo strip in Studio. Try the sample photos, or choose Import to pick up to four photos. Pick a film, adjust intensity and grain, and add a caption or date. Tap Develop strip to create your finished image.

Frames and photo order

The free layout uses three frames. Plus offers two and four frames. Tap photo thumbnails to swap neighboring images. If you use fewer photos than frames, some photos repeat. Photos are cropped to fill each frame.

Save, share or keep

Save to Photos adds a finished JPEG to your library, Share opens the iOS share sheet, and Keep in Memories saves a local copy inside Afterglow. A strip is exported at 1,200 pixels wide. Saved Memories are finished images; they do not retain an editable source-photo project.

Camera or Photos permission

Camera capture needs a physical iPhone. If access was denied, open iOS Settings, find Afterglow, and allow Camera or adding to Photos. Import uses Apple’s system picker and does not need broad photo-library access. Imported iCloud photos may need a connection to download.

What is free?

Honey, Rose, Dune, Olive, Cove, Amber, Peach, Mist and Mono are free, along with three-frame cream strips, captions, dates, grain and unlimited saving and sharing.

Afterglow Plus

Plus is an optional one-time App Store purchase that unlocks Faded, Silver and Noir, ink paper, two- and four-frame layouts, and light leaks. It is not a subscription. The app shows Apple’s current local price before you buy.

Restore a purchase

Use the same Apple Account that bought Plus, connect to the internet, open Plus in Studio and tap Restore Purchases. A pending purchase unlocks only after Apple approves it. If the store cannot connect, tap Retry. The free editor stays available.

Refunds and billing

Apple manages App Store billing and refund requests. Visit Apple’s Report a Problem page. If Apple revokes a purchase, new Plus edits lock again; your previously saved finished strips remain available.

Delete a memory

Open Memories and use the delete action, then confirm. This removes the in-app copy. A separately saved or shared copy is unaffected. Device backup settings apply to app storage.
